Injection stretch blow molding (ISBM) is a term of art and refers to biaxial PET blow molding from preforms. Friendship Bottles are made using a standard ISBM machine with minimal modifications, and a customized mold, that together enable Friendship Bottles to be manufactured in high volume using existing ISBM infrastructure. The Friendship Bottle is patented worldwide, and the mold and manufacturing process have multiple worldwide patents pending.
